A rectangular course of 750 meters(exact course subject to surf conditions), start on the beach and run in the the surf!. Standard distance race does two laps of course. See the photo gallery for the exciting sea conditions of the 2011 event. In the highly unlikely event of the Beach Life Guards deem the surf conditions too rough to swim in the event will be a Duathlon. Every effort will be made to achieve a sea swim..<br />Transition: Located in the grass field next to the car park at Harlyn Bay. <br />Bike: Out and back towards Newquay. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Following the hugely successful 2011 event we will be running the Lands End 100 again in 2012.&nbsp; As well as the 100km and 100 mile routes from the previous event we are hoping to introduce a shorter 40km route so there will be suitable distances for varying abilities of cyclist.&nbsp; This is a non-competitive cyclosportive so it is not a race and can be done at your own pace.&nbsp; The event starts and finishes at St Ives Leisure Centre and the full 100 miles takes a scenic route around the West Cornwall peninsula including Lands End and the Lizard.</p><br /><p>Entry details will be available at <a href="http://www.cornwall.gov.uk/landsend100">www.cornwall.gov.uk/landsend100</a></p>]]></content:encoded>
