Busy weekend....

Busy weekend this week, with three events added to the tricornwall events calendar. On Sunday september 5th there are the Padstow and St. Agnes triathlons, and the Fowey harbour swim. The Fowey harbour swim is a relatively new event, which has set an ambitious target of 200 swimmers; will you be one of them? All proceeds from the swim go to the NSPCC. For those of you familiar with the Fowey triathlon, the harbour swim will be from Fowey to Polruan and back.

Penzance swim 2010

Did my 10th or 11th consecutive Penzance swim, (I think its 11..... ) and the weather was fine, and the sea conditions OK. Got there earlier this year and found myself on the end of a queue giving time updates to my colleague as we shuffled forward. Got to the front of the queue to find the 400 t-shirt limit had been exceeded and there were none left. That's right, a new record of entries for this near one mile, open water charity swim, which raises much needed funds for the Macmillan cancer charity. Fantastic result and amazing performances from all who took part. Didn't wait around for the results or prize giving but did get a few photos up for you to view, giving a brief overview. Swimming end to the year in Cornwall

Sea swimming events are becoming more popular in Cornwall each year, and nobody minds as usually they are for a good cause. You get to swim in the sea, spectators watch and a charity benefits. Mustn't forget though that at the front and back towards the middle where some of us reside, it's a bit more competitive.

Three sea swim events have been added to the tricornwall calendar to finish 2010, with the first of these three tomorrow (27th August) in Penzance. Starting at Newlyn Green the Penzance swim will again be in aid of the Macmillan Cancer charity and includes an event t-shirt. This is followed on the 5th of September by the Fowey harbour swim in aid of the NSPCC. The Endless Summer swim finishes the Cornish sea swims for 2010.
